Kevin's Blog Wrap

It has already been several months since the start of this blogging assignment, and I'm amazed at how time flew past. Even before this assignment, I enjoyed blogging, but most of my entries consisted of words. Having to upload a photograph a day has made me rethink and change the way I blog. Blogging with images seem to make the entries look and feel more meaningful and personal to me since most of the photographs I posted were taken by me.

Having this type of assignment has definitely helped me take my camera around more consistently. More importantly, it has allowed me to share my works and ideas and to see other works done by students in the same course. It was a good way to connect and receive feed backs from my peers about my works and if not for this blogging network, I wouldn't have had the advantage of finding interesting artists of whom others have posted.

Personally, I used my blog as a combination of showing my works and sharing ideas with other students. This assignment made me realize that posting my images to the public is important for my progress and I'm planning to continue uploading my images. However, there are certain limitations that I face in blogspot, which is why I would most likely switch to a different site.

Narrative: Redemption

I chose to create a narrative for my "Choose One" assignment. This narrative centers around the theme of redemption, and it represents a story of an individual who struggles from feelings of remorse and confinement. As always, even in the midst of this melancholic state, hope can always be found, and with hope, there is escape, liberation, and redemption.

Duane Michals Inspiration

"Things are Queer"
Duane Michals' photographs are intriguing. I love his style of super-impression; his images blur the boundaries between reality and imagination. Many say his photographs describe the invisible and intangible world within the visible and tangible world, and I couldn't agree more. Hence, I used his works as reference for my Choose One Assignment.

Master of Story Telling

Eugene Richards
I admire Richards' images. He has a remarkable gift of making photographs that easily tell stories in a single exposure. Reading about his methods and photo works in the text books has made me appreciate his pictures even more.

World of Coca-Cola

The World of Coca-Cola is pretty amazing. There is one particular room called "Taste It", and it's filled with every Coca-Cola beverage in existence around the globe. The best part about it is that you can try all the beverages for free. If you get a chance to visit, I recommend trying the one called Beverly, which is under Italy, Europe.

* I got extra credit points from Stefan for this ;D
